Planning the link to a distant director’s tent
Understand iPG by starting with signal sources, monitoring locations and the services you need to carry.

Start with the two locations
Begin by identifying the camera wireless receiver area and the director’s monitoring area. They cannot always be close together, especially when the shooting space, movement or terrain constrains the tent’s position.
List the services together
Along with video, consider production audio and network connectivity. Separate runs become more cumbersome as distance grows. iPG carries these services over one fiber strand to reduce cabling between the areas.
Confirm the complete configuration
Confirmed iPG capabilities include bidirectional 8-channel 12G-SDI and single-strand fiber transmission up to 5 km. Specify the complete system with the per-direction channel allocation, equipment interfaces and operating conditions in mind.
